After completing its 2206 voyage, the vessel “Jinghang Energy 09” departed from the Sanjiang Oil Depot in Dongguan and set sail northward. En route, it received instructions from the company to return to Dalian for refueling and to undergo project repairs.
In the early hours of November 28, my vessel arrived at the Dalian inland oil tanker anchorage in rainy weather and dropped anchor. Shortly after the sewage disposal vessel completed its operations, our vessel, “Jinghang Energy 02,” safely moored alongside the port side of my vessel at 8:25 a.m. to take on heavy fuel oil. Soon afterward, we received word from company leaders that they would come aboard to check on everyone.
The biting cold wind could not stop the team’s visit of care and concern. At 8:55 a.m., after the vessel “Jinghang Energy 01” safely docked amid stormy weather, Li Yulu, General Manager of the Group’s Shipping Company, led a delegation to the ship’s frontline, braving heavy rain and rough seas to board the “Jinghang Energy 09” for an on-site inspection and show of support. During their visit, Mr. Li and his team conducted a thorough inspection from the bridge to the engine room, fully recognizing and praising everyone’s hard work and achievements. They also extended heartfelt greetings to all crew members, ensuring that everyone truly felt the warmth and care from the company. Mr. Li emphasized that each crew member should stay grounded in their actual job responsibilities, continuously enhance their professional competence, always prioritize production safety, and diligently perform maintenance and upkeep on the new vessels, thereby contributing their part to the Group’s shipping endeavors.
Gu Zaiqing, the head of the company’s vessel management department, plunged right into the pump room as soon as he stepped aboard, joining the maintenance crew to inspect the machinery and rolling up his sleeves alongside the repair technicians and shipmates. After a quick lunch, he immediately got back to work, actively addressing various issues on board—such as the lack of specialized maintenance personnel, sourcing food supplies, and arranging nucleic acid tests—virtually becoming a “general housekeeper.” In real life, many people work simply to make a living; yet others strive to work even better in pursuit of self-fulfillment. Department Head Gu remained busy until after seven o’clock in the evening before finally leaving the vessel “Jinghang Energy 09.” As he departed, he leaned over a small boat, covering himself with a canvas bag to shield himself from wind and rain. Watching his stooped figure, the crew members present were deeply moved and couldn’t help but exclaim: “With Master Gu around, we feel completely at ease!”
The day aboard the vessel “Jinghang Energy 09” in Dalian came to an end amid the howling north wind and the irregular sounds of waves lapping against the ship’s hull.
