Recently, General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the symposium on private enterprises, fully recognizing the remarkable achievements made by the private economy and its tremendous contributions to the country’s economic and social development. In his speech, the General Secretary succinctly summarized and emphasized the Party and the state’s fundamental principles and policies for the development of the private economy, offering a reassuring “stabilizing pill” to private enterprises and entrepreneurs across the board. This speech also injected a powerful “boost” into promoting the healthy and high-quality development of the private economy.
In the context of the new era, private enterprises face both opportunities and challenges. As a professional who has been deeply engaged in the maritime industry for many years, I’ve been profoundly inspired and deeply moved.
I. Boosted Confidence: Favorable Policies Fuel Business Growth
The Party and the state’s fundamental guidelines and policies for the development of the private economy have been incorporated into the socialist system with Chinese characteristics and will be consistently upheld and implemented. From optimizing tax policies to intensifying financial support, from encouraging technological innovation to promoting a green and low-carbon transition, this series of coordinated policy measures directly addresses the pain points faced by enterprises and provides us with robust support.
In particular, for the maritime transport industry, the country has introduced specific measures such as the “Construction of International Logistics Corridors” and the “Green Shipping Subsidy Program,” which have profoundly underscored the nation’s emphasis on the real economy. As a private enterprise, we not only need to cherish this historic opportunity but also respond concretely to the expectations set forth by these policies: We will be committed to enhancing logistics efficiency and supporting the development of the “dual-circulation” framework. At the same time, we will actively adopt lower-carbon ship technologies, earnestly pursuing our “dual-carbon” goals and contributing our part to environmental protection efforts.
II. Taking Responsibility: Upholding Our Mission and Duty Amidst Changing Circumstances
Currently, the international situation is complex and ever-changing. As a “barometer” of global trade, the maritime shipping industry is facing the impact of multiple factors, including geopolitical developments and energy price fluctuations. The global economy continues to slow down, and trade tensions are intensifying. The interplay of downward pressures and negative factors has brought us unprecedented challenges.
However, challenges and opportunities coexist. As private enterprises, we must put the new development philosophy into practice, deeply understand the shortcomings and challenges facing the development of the private sector, and transform our development approach by staying true to our core business, striving for greater strength and scale, and consciously pursuing high-quality development. Amidst these changing circumstances, we must always uphold the mission and responsibilities of private enterprises and contribute our part to the country’s economic and social development.
Looking ahead, we will continue to uphold the development philosophy of innovation, green sustainability, openness, and shared benefits, constantly enhancing our competitiveness and contributing our wisdom and strength to the thriving development of the maritime transport industry. At the same time, we look forward to joining hands with more peers to move forward together and jointly usher in a new chapter for the maritime transport sector!
