On July 19 and 20, 2022, I was fortunate enough to participate in the “2022 District-Wide Demonstration Training Course for Development Candidates,” organized by the Party Working Committee of Shahekou District.
Professor Zou Yujie and Associate Professor Xin Xin from the Party School of the Dalian Municipal Committee delivered a systematic presentation and in-depth interpretation of the Party’s major achievements and historical experiences over the past century from different perspectives. They profoundly grasped the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the plenary session, continuously enhancing their consciousness and determination to uphold the “Two Upholds.” They also deeply understood the significant outcomes of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, further strengthening their consciousness and determination to unify thinking, will, and action. Moreover, they gained a profound understanding of the Party’s great journey over the past century, constantly reinforcing their awareness and commitment to fulfilling the original aspiration and mission. They urged us to remain firm in our ideals and convictions, keep our original aspirations and missions firmly in mind, vigorously carry forward the great spirit of Party building, draw lessons from history to forge ahead into the future, work diligently and courageously, and strive unremittingly toward achieving the Second Centenary Goal and realizing the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that history is the best textbook. To understand the origins and development of our Party and country’s undertakings, to draw on the historical experiences of our Party and country, and to gain a proper understanding of major events and important figures in the history of our Party and country—historical study and education rests fundamentally on learning. We must systematically study the history of the Party, the history of New China, the history of reform and opening up, and the history of socialist development. We should insist on reading the original works, studying the original texts, and comprehending the underlying principles. By analyzing the mechanisms of historical evolution and exploring historical laws within the long river of history, the tide of our times, and the global landscape, we can enhance our “four consciousnesses,” firmly uphold our “four self-confidences,” and ensure we “safeguard two things.”
By studying the "Constitution of the Communist Party of China," the "Regulations on Party Branches of the Communist Party of China," and the "Regulations on the Party Emblem and Party Flag," as well as by visiting the Shahekou Party History Exhibition, I have gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Communist Party of China.
As young people in the contemporary era, how we can align our thinking with the Party organization and how we can put the Party’s original aspirations and mission into practice in our daily work are lifelong pursuits for us. As long as life goes on, learning never stops. Let us study history, keep our mission firmly in mind, remain true to our original aspiration, dare to take responsibility, and bravely dedicate ourselves!
